LOCAL SHOP – MINIMARKET ON SITE
Between 700 and 1000 items fill our supermarket (brand Proxi = subsidiary of Carrefour). It’s a real supermarket during summer because you will find everything over there: local and international newspapers (mainly in Dutch), ice, wine, fruits and vegetables, frozen food, sun cream,….Brands and prices are similar to the other shops in Castellane.(casino, little casino, Vival,…)
It’s located in the centre of the campsite and belongs to one of the important French distribution groups.
It offers a wide range of good-quality goods at competitive prices.
In July and August you don’t need to order bread in advance; during the low season you should order the day before (at the reception desk or the shop).
In high season newspapers are present and they are provided by the tobacco-Press in Castellane. French newspapers: L’équipe, La Provence, Nice-Matin, or foreign newspapers like the Telegraaf from Holland, Algemeende Dagblad from Germany….
No but if you did not made an agreement with the manager; he will not reserve them for you neither.
In addition to raise the subject friendly with the manager of the supermarket, you are invited(and personally thanked) to communicate your dissatisfaction to the Director of the campsite at the reception. Even if the status of independent manager of the supermarket prevent immediate sanctions by the owners of the campsite (Family Fradet and in this case Henry and Rolland Fradet), the problem will be raised and there will be a solution in short or medium-term. Otherwise the manager of the supermarket will be fires at the end of the season.
